Sure, two writers sparring doesn’t quite rise to the level of a good swordfight or boxing match. I get that. Unless a pen ends up in someone’s arm, writers battling it out wouldn’t be a pay-per-view event.
I’m a firm believer that teachers very rarely get the “thank you” they deserve.

Thank you, Blue Springs
I want to thank all of the people who have supported me on the council for the past 17 years. It has been a privilege and I have enjoyed serving District 2 and the city of Blue Springs.
The last time I saw Jaron Baston, in person that is, was in March of 2005.
Leadership means something in Blue Springs. The Leadership Blue Springs class of 2009-2010 has taken the word seriously and is putting leadership skills to work.
I’m officially scared out of my mind.
Off the record, I have a pretty amazing family. And like most amazing families, we’re also just a tiny bit eccentric.
I don’t mean to imply that any amount of time serving the citizens of a town as a city council member is in any way like jail time.

Paid to work, not campaign
In today’s political climate filled with distrust and scrutiny of our elected officials, I was very surprised to see Representative Bryan Pratt at the Lee’s Summit polls on election day instead of being in Jefferson City where our elected leaders were to be in session.
Off the record, last week, I had to call my mom and ask how to boil an egg.
Two weeks ago, the Missouri Senate held a “Rebooting Missouri Government” work day to discuss some cost-saving ideas that will streamline and restructure government.
I’ve never really figured out if the saying is “off the wagon” or “on the wagon.” And really, I don’t even think I am using it correctly when I do say it.
