BSPD officers serve warrant, arrest teen for burglary

Blue Springs Police Department officers have arrested a 19-year-old Blue Springs man for his alleged connections to a burglary, according to the police department.
According to reports, on Feb. 1, a home in the 1500 block of Northwest 12th Street. was burglarized by five male suspects. The police department maintains multiple weapons were stolen during the burglary.
Soon afterwards, officers received a tip as to where the stolen guns were located. After presenting the information to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s office, a search warrant for a home in the 1300 block of Southwest 20th Street, was obtained.
At 10 a.m. Wednesday, members of the Blue Springs SWAT unit, along with the assistance of the ATF, served the search warrant. Two subjects were taken into custody and transported to the Blue Springs Police Department for interviews.
Detectives searched the residence and recovered two guns that were allegedly taken in the burglary. Also located was a loaded Glock 21, 45- caliber semiautomatic handgun. Detectives learned the Glock had been stolen during an incident that occurred in Lee’s Summit and allegedly used in at least one robbery that occurred in Blue Springs.
