Structure fire damages building

The cause of a structure fire that occurred early Monday morning in a downtown Blue Springs office building is still under investigation, according to the Central Jackson County Fire Protection District.
According to reports, at approximately 3 a.m. March 1, a resident living in the area called 9-1-1 after reportedly seeing flames coming from the office building, located in the 900 block of Main Street.
CJCFPD crews were on the scene for approximately two hours before the fire was extinguished.
The building held a number of offices and had significant damage to the lower level and smoke damage throughout the rest of the building.
