Times, they are a changin'
John Beaudoin, Journal Publisher
Next week, the Blue Springs Journal will enter a new era.
As many of you know, the Journal was started in Blue Springs more than two years ago and since that time, we have strived to cover all aspects of the city – from city and school happenings to business events and economic development.
As we enter our third year, we are making some additional changes that will ensure the Blue Springs Journal will stay around for quite some time.
When we began this adventure a few years ago, we mailed the Blue Springs Journal to the south side of town. As we evolved over time, we began to blanket the town with copies of the Blue Springs Journal and strived to hit nearly every household in the city.
We started to hit our stride with readers and residents last year and began to become more involved in Blue Springs at a number of events.
As we continue this transition, the Blue Springs Journal will continue to be delivered to many areas in Blue Springs.
However, we will no longer “car deliver” the Journal in your neighborhoods. The Blue Springs Journal routes will now be walked by our carriers and the newspaper itself will be porch delivered.
We think this will ensure an even better readership and add more value to not only our newspaper but for the information we are trying to deliver each week.
Along the lines of changes, we will also switch up the day of the week you will receive your newspaper.
The Blue Springs Journal will come out on Wednesday now instead of Saturday.
The move to Wednesday will ensure that we are far more timely on weekend news, sports and other happenings while still being able to preview upcoming events.
And of course, we will always update our Web page, www.bluespringsjournal.com, whenever breaking news happens in Blue Springs.
Along with our upgraded delivery, the Blue Springs Journal can also be found, still free of charge, at several convenience stores and other businesses around Blue Springs, including Price Chopper at U.S. 40 and M-7 highways.
If you are not receiving the Blue Springs Journal and would like to continue to do so, please call us at 816-524-2345 and we will set you up with a mail or delivered subscription so the Journal can continue to bring you all the news of Blue Springs each week.
We appreciate the opportunity to continue to serve Blue Springs and as always, if you have any news or feature ideas for us, please call me directly at 816-282-7001.
