Letter to the Editor
Thank you, Blue Springs
I want to thank all of the people who have supported me on the council for the past 17 years. It has been a privilege and I have enjoyed serving District 2 and the city of Blue Springs.
Time marches on and I will start a new chapter of my life. (Again) it seems like there have been many chapters. I am looking forward to being part of the citizens and leaving the political arena to the new council members.
I feel we are in good hands. In the past 17 years, we have made much progress and more progress is to come.
I want to thank all of the Staff, Kathy Richardson, Sheryl Morgan, Todd Pelham and Eric Johnson in particular. All of the managers of each deptartment bend over backward to help all of the council and the citizens. Usually they only hear when someone is unhappy with something, but they smile and work it out.
The city is blessed with staff that takes care of our daily business. Roscoe with the parks deptartment is so great to work with. Oliver, in engineering, with his great sense of humor. Chief McCoy, who responds immediately to any request. I can’t leave out Christine our CFO. She runs a tight ship with our money.
There isn’t anyone on the staff that isn’t dedicated to their work. I will miss my contact with them.
Thank you for putting up with me all of these years.
Sissy Reed, Former Councilman
