“Time in Place” a temporary public art exhibit featuring four original artworks will have a public dedication ceremony today.

The dedication will begin at 6 p.m., at Pink Hill Park, Shelter No. 1, 2715 N.W. Park Rd.

According to the Public Art Commission, Pink Hill Park was selected due to the amount of annual attendance it sees and because The Wall That Heals, the traveling Vietnam Veterans Memorial wall, will be in the park in late September.

The four art exhibits include Iowa artist Beth Nybeck’s “Restless Recovery,” an abstract aluminum sculpture composed of “wave-like” shapes located west of the park entry road and north of shelter No. 5 in the park.

“Passing Through Time and Place” by Missouri artist Mark LaMir. This piece is a series of three steel archways with attached benches located on the east side of the entry drive along the curve of the road into the parking lot.

“Parenthesis” by Missouri artist Brian Zimmerman is two steel forms in the shape of parenthesis painted white and silver, located south of the parking lot, near the tennis courts. The final piece, “Quasarc,” by Illinois artist Nicole Beck, is painted steel form with glass magnifying lenses, located on the north side along the Park Road east of shelter No. 1.

The exhibition is available until Sept. 30.
