An American Bald Eagle flies near Blue Springs Lake recently. Two American Bald Eagles are currently nesting in the upper end of the Mouse Creek arm of Longview Lake for the second consecutive year closing the area to boat traffic as a protective measure. A violation of the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act can lead to a $100,000 fine or a year-long prison sentence for a first offense.
