During an undercover underage alcohol compliance check June 30, no Blue Springs businesses sold alcohol to minors, according to the Blue Springs Police Department.

Last month during a similar operation, four businesses clerks were fined and charged for selling to a minor.

According to the BSPD, between 5 and 8 p.m., June 30, officers provided money to a volunteer who was under 21-years-old and instructed him to enter specified local businesses and attempt to purchase alcohol. The volunteer was told to provide the business clerk with his actual Missouri driver’s license and be honest if the clerk asked about his age.

The alcohol compliance checks program is supported by the Missouri Department of Public Safety and administered by Blue Springs Police Sgt. Joe Fanara. For more information, call 816-228-0153.
