Letter to the Editor

Dear Editor:

With the Republican Primary approaching on Aug. 3, I would like to take this opportunity to describe why Sheila Solon has my support for the 55th District candidate.

Sheila Solon has represented the third district on the Blue Springs City Council with integrity and veracity. Sheila researches agenda items and is thoroughly informed before addressing issues at the city level. This is the type of person I want representing my interests at the state level also.

As an employee for the Blue Springs School District, currently working in the field of special education, I welcome a state representative that openly supports education and will address difficult topics.

Sheila Solon believes that all students deserve a quality education and that high academic standards must be set for each child.

Solon also supports fully funding the career ladder and the school foundation formula, and will work to maintain the current funding for education without raising taxes. Her conservative views and attention to detail are much needed at the state level with the economy in its current condition.

I admire and respect the humbleness that Sheila has demonstrated as our elected official for the third district in Blue Springs.

I encourage all voters to consider Sheila Solon for the 55th District Republican Primary Candidate on Aug. 3. She is a proven effective leader.
