Letter to the Editor
Solon for district 55
I fully support Sheila Solon. She has been a long-time friend and contributor to the community starting with the many years in the PTA, planning commission and city council. She works hard for the people, is trustworthy and honest and will make a good Representative for District 55.
Although we worked very hard and long hours in the PTA, we always had fun with making a difference for the kids. When she became PTA president, I was amazed how she could bring the school together with all the accomplishments that were made.
Her philosophy was to delegate projects to each committee that were formed. She allowed them freedom to gather as much information to get the job done and report back their plan at the PTA meeting.
Once their plan was OK’d by the majority, she would give each committee the freedom to complete the project as they saw fit.
I was always encouraged to speak my opinion, even though we disagreed on a few items. Not everyone agreed on everything but she had their respect.
Many tough decisions had to be made and she was not afraid to make them.
Our PTA at Cordilll-Mason Elementary became very strong under her leadership. In 2000, Cordill-Mason was awarded the Most Outstanding PTA in the state of Missouri.
I feel she will make the best Representative for District 55. Sue Scheetz, Blue Springs
