Parkside Books merges with Prospero’s
With outside temperatures hitting the high 90s, the coolest place to be in Blue Springs might be Prospero’s Parkside Books.
Wing Stop, 481 N.E. Coronado Dr., features nine different flavors of sauced wings and homemade sides. The grand opening event was also a fundraiser for the “Wall that Heals,” a traveling exhibition of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. The wall will be on display in Blue Springs Sept. 30 through Oct. 3.
Owners and management of The Cotillion, 1717 Burdett Crossing, Blue Springs, joined the Blue Springs Chamber of Commerce for a ribbon cutting July 22. The Cotillion is the area’s newest event space and will host weddings, receptions and other parties.

Gym plans for September grand opening
Club 7 Fitness recently opened its doors at in Blue Springs. The gym, located at 1241 S. Missouri 7, is family-owned and is managed by Matthew and Sarah Inman. Gary and Pam Hull and Jeremy and Shawnna Hull are owners, as well along with their eight grandchildren.
This morning, Robert “Lea” Bailes, Jr., chief executive officer of the Guier Fence Company, Blue Springs, testified at the House Committee on Small Business’s annual “Heroes of Small Business” hearing.
